The Lone Traveler by taffy

The Lone Traveler

Taken at Union Station on Sunday, processed today (along with the melting heart box shot). I used textures and LR to try to create the feel of heaviness that to me went along with her posture as she moved toward the door to the station. Continuing in main album for flash of red. Extras has the red melting heart box.

February 10th, 2016
Wonderful shot.
February 10th, 2016
I think the edit really does exactly what you wanted...poor woman. Potenet shot, well composed and edited
February 10th, 2016
I love the height makes her seem small and burdened
February 10th, 2016
Except for the bag she is carrying, I thought this was a benedictine monk! In a monastery! I think I'll go on thinking that - its neat!
February 10th, 2016
Exceptional shot Taffy, love this so much. The lighting, lines, texture, comp, and that traveler of course... so wonderful.
February 10th, 2016
Incredibly detailed shot. The processing you used was spot on. Fav!
February 10th, 2016

Wonderful capture
February 10th, 2016
excellent shot
February 10th, 2016
I was immediately struck, too, by her posture and clothing, as though world-weary from another era, long past. You framed her so beautifully here, as though telling a story.
February 10th, 2016
Love the lines, repetition, light
February 10th, 2016
She looks so burdened, in this vast space... wonderful composition. Of course, the lines and symmetry are so pleasing. I like your use of texture (a creature with which I have little experience), very impressive.
February 10th, 2016
Incredible picture and perspective. Congratulations on making the Trending Page. Well deserved.
February 10th, 2016
Your processing has made the shot timeless, this could be today or 100 years ago.
February 10th, 2016
I feel like watching an Italian movie. Very cool composition and processing.
February 10th, 2016
Great processing Taffy, you've succeeded in making her look like she's trudging wearily and worn down. Love this effect.
February 10th, 2016
The image is wonderful on its own but the addition of the woman is fabulous! Perfect composition Taffy! She looks like she is from another age. The processing gives it a timeless feel. How lucky for you that she was the only person to come into the shot! Fav!
February 10th, 2016
Super cool editing- it has that 'film/vintage' quality ,fav!
February 10th, 2016
Oh my Taffy, another stunner. Seems like practically everything about it is perfect in my view
February 10th, 2016
Really nice. Love the repetition
February 10th, 2016
You are so good with these b/w, so many elements I like here: the repetition, the traveler, the mood
February 10th, 2016
Lovely and meaningful.
February 10th, 2016
Good story shot. Your processing has worked well.
February 10th, 2016

February 10th, 2016
Love the detail on this
February 10th, 2016
lovely use of monochrome and repetition with the lone figure to make a great shot. fav
February 10th, 2016
Fabulous shot and processing. If you reduced the opacity on the figure she would look quite ghostly.
February 10th, 2016
great lines
February 10th, 2016
Love this so much. FAV
February 10th, 2016
You've really captured the mood in this Taffy. Great shot and clever processing
February 10th, 2016
Magnificent photo, the lines, repetitive pattern and the lone figure makes this brilliant composition. Fav.
February 10th, 2016
It's the woman who makes this image come alive and whilst I think you have successfully created the right mood with your processing, I would have preferred a lighter touch with the texture, especially on the paving where it draws my eye away from the main action.... overall a success though.
February 10th, 2016
That lady is a real success in this image. What a timeless feel to it. Left pondering about the lady...
February 10th, 2016
I like the repetition of the lanterns and the light and shadow on the columns!
February 10th, 2016
Nice pov and I think you caught the feel of this lady's mood perfectly.
February 10th, 2016
Gorgeous. The lines, light, shadows...love it all!
February 10th, 2016
Unbelievable picture and processing. Fav
February 10th, 2016
simple composition, but still so much to look at. I really like this a lot.
February 10th, 2016
Perfect processing of this wonderful image! I definitely see how the processing complements the woman. There's so much to love here...the repetition, the texture, the composition, the light...the list could go on and on. I learn a lot from your images and your words. Thank you!

Nice shot and processing. Fav.
February 11th, 2016
Congratulations on making the PP. Well deserved.
February 11th, 2016
Enjoyable, moody image with a lone figure. The processing is slightly gritty, but still conveys a truth about it, rather than being overcooked. I enjoy the repetitive lights and columns and it is perfectly off centre! Well done!
February 11th, 2016
nicely captured!
February 12th, 2016
Great catch!
February 12th, 2016
