I was attracted initially to the fire escape against the bright blue sky. Then by the shapes and textures that come through in b&w. But then...it just seemed to be the kind of scene where bats would be flying in (daytime bats?).
I love the composition of this image -- and, yeah, the bats certainly add a certain...hmmmm. Well suffice it to say, they are the perfect finishing touch. FAV
Oh yes, definitely needs those bats to make it suitably spooky. Fantastic shot, love those strong lines and patterns, very appealing. And the bats offset all the right angles just perfectly. Fav.
Lol! I wouldn't have thought the four segments would work, mouth it works great and the graceful, bat lines contrasting with the stright and rectangular are great
Wow this is a wonderful capture. We get bats in our ancient house now and then. They squeeze into the smallest openings. I captured the last one flying around our third floor using a pillow case and released it outside.
@pickerandagrinner Thanks Louis, but truth-in-advertising, I created these using picmonkey. But I'm glad you like the look and thought it looked fairly natural. I'm also terrified of real ones -- we had one in our house years ago, and I wondered aloud to my husband how a 'bird' got in. He told me to take our dog outside and he'd get the 'bird.' This bird was not hitting any walls as it flew around, but it was about a decade later when I realized it had been a bat and my husband just thought it easier to get me out than to have to deal with both me and the bat!
I love that staircase and the brilliant b& w processing brings us so much fantastic detail! The bats just make me laugh! Very creative as always Taffy! Fav!
Great shot before with the even pattern but the bats are great :)
