The weekend drew to a close -- ending with the hockey game tonight. I decided to walk there (Jim drove so we would have it after the game) since I'd been a slug all day. I took my camera and was glad I did -- there's about a week this time of year where the sun sets directly in the west within the grid of the streets but I'd totally forgotten. I almost missed it tonight.
I find sometimes clouds like this end up looking much duller in photos than in the real life - but here you can see the splendour of the evening light.
@Weezilou That's fun that you would remember that one. It's really a cool sight in the city...last night was cloudy so it didn't work. I think I'm giving up...for this year anyway.
Beautiful colors, and after last night and this shot I am really getting a feel for where you are in the city. Chicagohenge happens again in the fall so we still have another chance this year.
You've captured the clouds and the gorgeous light very well in this shot. The street lights, augmented by some reflections, make an interesting trail leading into the sunset.
Really beautiful shot
