I did extensive focus stacking today with a tulip. Notice that I am posting a lily leaf. That tells you the massive fail with the tulip!
Good friends are visiting so only sporadic commenting til tomorrow night or Monday. Many thanks for you kind comments on my buds from yesterday.
@pasttheirprime I couldn't get a section to actually focus...it was strange as there is one photo with it perfectly in focus, but when I do the stack command, the section is blurry.
beautiful art again....think i'll get out my prismacolors! i don't know what the heck focus stacking is! you just take on and learn so much! so impressed. are you a professor? i notice you say in your profile "during the academic year...."
@jgpittenger Thanks for your kind comment on this one. HEre's what happened with stacking - I couldn't get a section to actually focus...it was strange as there is one photo with it perfectly in focus, but when I do the stack command, the section is blurry. I'm thinking it might be the lighting as much as anything. I tried again today and it was better without so much light on it. My best shot, though, was using f/32 and a 3 second exposure, with ISO at low (I think about 35).
Sorry I couldn't help but smile when I read your commentary. However you have posted a really beautiful image, the colours and textures work so well together.
Can sympathise about time spent faffing only to fail lol
