Taken at the Harold Washington Library main lobby. After a few days, I have LR6 up and running successfully and now am about to learn what 6 does that 5 didn't.
BTW, this image is of the railing around a large open area through which you look down to the lower level. I stood above this segment and took the shot, and then in processing flipped the image as I thought it looked more balanced. So this is basically just one segment of a railing around the open space.
Great pov, Taffy. BTW, I think you'll like LR6, lots of improvements. Pano merge is good, the HDR is great as it doesn't do anything glitzy, just gives you the extra dynamic range, which is great if you intend using bracketed shots for b&w for instance. Dehaze works and is now in the adjustment tools. Lots of extra lens profiles added too. @snaggy
Cool flip! When I first looked at it and read it was taken at the library I was wondering if you had been in a secret part of the library that I had not, but now I have figured it out. Nicely conceived and taken!
The "dehaze" is very nice, but it tends to over-blue things, so you might have to end up going to the HSL panel and lowering the Blue (and perhaps Aqua) saturation. Glad you got the library sorted out.
@frankhymus I'm relieved that it's so similar to LR5, with the additional tools a few have pointed out. And totally relieved that my catalogue was preserved, as far as I can tell, in full. I was fiddling with dehaze for fun and know what you mean re noticing the blue tones.
@snaggy
Thanks for the pointers -- I had some time today to check out some of the features and think LR6 looks pretty good.
