Sadly, the clouds are so thick that not only was there no real sunset (the sun disappeared behind the clouds long before it set), I doubt we'll see a single meteor with the storm clouds above. Very disappointing!
Thank you for your visits to my dragonfly and your encouraging comments, as always.
@ellendell71 The structures are our neighbor's boat docks. When they are up here, they can put their kayaks/canoes on top, or can tie them with a rope. They usually put them out mid-summer and then take them out of the water before at season's end.
Beautiful rays and colors. Thunderstorms are marching through here right now, but I am holding out hope that by midnight or 1 am there might be partly cloudy skies. Fingers are crossed!
A beautiful sky nevertheless, especially with those lovely rays. Such a shame about the meteor showers though, where you are would be perfect for viewing them, not too much light pollution.
@golftragic I was just down on the beach with my tripod setup, but to the northeast it's really thick with clouds. The only thing I got was a so-so shot of the Big Dipper. Very sad...may try to stay up til 1:00 a.m. when the showers are supposed to be at their best and, like April @aecasey hope for clearing in the clouds.
How gorgeous! I'd give up a sunset to have this sort of beauty! Of course it's best developed with an artistic capability like yours! I'm glad to see you're back on the island and greatly improved! (I think we still have clear skies, but I'm to exhausted to even consider going tout for photos tonight...
@Weezilou Thanks Louise! Yes, greatly improved and I'd say almost back to normal. But this low-fat diet and no wine for two months is definitely making entertaining more of a challenge! Could have been so much worse, of course.
You may be disappointed with no sunset and no meteors but this shot Taffy is stunning! What a view you have and how blessed to be able to see it in all different lights and weathers. Thick cloud overhead last night so no meteors for me either. Fav for this gorgeous scene!
