My data has been saved despite all sense of the impossibility of the task. I've never been as impressed as I was today at seeing the tenacity and teamwork of a group of 5 tech fellows work to save my Lightroom file. It took until 6:30 tonight to do all that needed to be done -- and they said there was a bit of magic that had to happen for them to have been successful. I spent the full day and into the evening with them so know how hard they worked throughout the day, yet took the extended time to rally together to solve my computer woes. Thank you all for sending such good thoughts my way!! And all your suggestions for new backup systems have been so helpful. A useful lesson learned...and one I don't want to repeat!
Great news that they were able to save your catalogue. I have been reading the thread you started and I am going to be double checking my backup to my external drive!
Wow, that's a relief! I worry often about my LR files, even though I use Carbonite AND back up locally to an external SSD. Paranoia ain't necessarily bad! You must be sleeping better now.
Thank goodness! My photos are part of my soul and having lost all of them a few years ago and having them return because of a great team of engineers, I know EXACTLY how you feel.
@louannwarren It is pretty incredible what engineers can do. I still can't get over that I have my data back...such a great feeling even as I hassle with getting my computer links all up and running again!
Been there. Not fun. The guys at Geek Squad are my heroes. My daughter's computer hard drive crashed near the end of the school year. We thought we had lost her entire junior year of school work. They were able to save it all and put it on the new hard drive. Quite stressful there for a while.
I have been out of touch with 365 for a few days, so just heard about your computer woes. glad everything was resolved. It is scary when you think all you photos have been lost.

Very nice shot. Very pleased that your laptop is back to normal and that nothing has been lost. When I have problems with my computer it is always my son-in-law who saves the day for me. There were times when it took him past midnight to get things right again.
Wow, what a relief. Five tech fellows working all day... amazing effort! So very glad for you. I can't imagine the distress of losing that beautiful catalog.
