While frogs, sunsets, and the like are exciting to photograph, I do love architectural photography and the Bahai Temple is one that fascinates in any season. I've not been in the city in the summer for decades, so it was a treat to have a short break in activity to sneak off to the temple this morning (missed you, Junko!). Dramatic clouds cooperated, along with all the greenery.
Thank you for sending frog to the TT this week! Much appreciated! Looking forward to returning to serenity on the island and time for photography again.
hello, miss taffy. that is one nifty architecture shot. how far is that from chicago downtown? i might be in that nick of the woods around september or october.
@summerfield It's about 45 minutes north of the city, depending on traffic. You can take a train to Linden street (the L or the Metra) and it's an easy walk. Well worth it. Or if you have a car, an easy drive - just avoid rush hour.
You're home! I haven't been to the Baha'i Temple in the morning but once in my life -- you know me and mornings -- but this is a particularly nice combination of cloud drama with the morning air crispness.
@jyokota It was definitely not the same without you there too! I was on my way back from returning some quartz samples from the tile place on Green Bay so thought it would be a nice place to stop -- I had about 2 hours -- literally, not figuratively -- of downtime from the moment we arrived here. It's been wild! But SO productive!
I love this beautiful building and this is a wonderful capture with those lovely clouds setting it off. We had such a great visit there last year with sunshine and blue sky which gave it such a different look. Fav!
I always enjoy your architectural shots Taffy, and it is nice to see this temple close up - I think I saw some distance shots a while ago. Great symmetry and processing.
I can well see why this building holds so much appeal for you. It's incredible. You've got the symmetry spot-on and the temple stands out so well against the dramatic sky.
What an amazing building and I really like your composition. The edit is a bit over the top for my eye but agreat shot nonetheless. Sounds as if you are working your butt off but I bet your new home will be worth it
@jgpittenger It's definitely beyond anything realistic, but it was so fun to work on it that I just decided to do the total opposite of nature/natural scenes. I may have gone too far... And while exhausted from the 5 nonstop days of work, it's going to be SO worth it. I'm very excited about how it's all shaping up. We go back on the 20th and by then, the floors should be in (not stained, but all in).
