Opera House Portico by taffy

Opera House Portico

This is the portico to the Civic Opera, another fisheye shot. Still working on where to stand to take into account what I lose to crop to the circle format (in camera, the result is an oval where the top and bottom go off the frame, so I have to crop to a 1:1 to create a true fisheye). In this one, I stood a little to close, but the ones from further back didn't have the right type of distortion and had too much sky. But, a good learning experience and I was pleased with the post-processing result, given what I had to work with.
Thanks for your fun comments on my space station!

Your fisheye shots are awe inspiring. Love the inclusion of the words on the right since it adds to this never ending feeling of the composition. Fav.

Just as important, you avoided your feet in the image, maybe it's a problem for me because of my big feet.

This composition feels so powerful as if someone were standing over me -- and then there's that Faust advertisement . . .

Lovely, how it all lines up. Also, the pillars feel like huge feet, stomping along the sidewalk. So imposing!

Wow, this shot just about sucks your eyes into the shot and along the passage between those impressive columns. The fisheye make some very powerful images.
