Playing around with Jim's Lumix 330 tonight (after finding the case, battery charger, etc. to recharge battery since it hasn't been used in months). Convenient, but very little control compared to mine.
The scene is looking north through the bedroom window, and northeast beyond the dining room windows.
@jgpittenger I'm able to go to the windows and look out, but not outside. So quite a bit braver, as long as I'm inside! The camera did fine in this scene, but in the broad view to the west, I couldn't get it to focus or look at all sharp. It seems to need something really clear with clean lines to be able to focus well.
Wonderful view once again!! This is interesting to see Taffy as I think the FZ330 has so many limitations I have been quite disappointed. In fact this week I bought a book on Amazon Panasonic Lumix FZ 330 User's Manual by Graham Houghton. The reviews said that it was so much clearer than the instructions that come with the camera. I am hoping it might help me get better shots from the camera. I will let you know. It's so tempting to use as it's so much lighter than my SLR with the big lenses. I still don't think I will get the quality I want.
The smaller cameras are so lovely and light, but I still find my big old clunker is simpler to use, and is capable of so much more. My Dad left me his Nikon bridge camera, which is great for travelling, but I still prefer my big Canon.
Great photo and what a view you guys have. Looks like we are standing there looking out your window. Great reflections in the windows to the right too. FAV
I could look out and watch the city for ages. I recognise your problem with focussing. My Panasonic Lumix sometimes just refuses to focus when I think it should. But mostly I am happy with it. It is all I have.
@casablanca Thanks for the kind comment! If I listen, then I do hear sounds -- mostly sirens or trains. But basically it's 'white noise' in the background and not really noticeable.
@pamknowler Let me know if the manual helps. I know I'm not using the lumix to its fullest potential. @helenhall Helen, I did figure out a way to manually move the focal point around and that helped a lot! I think it's me and not the camera at this point. The camera gets too many good reviews for it not to serve us well at some point!
You really do have a great view. Looks like you can also see into the neighbours below. That's what I would find funny about living in high rises, being able to look into other people's apartments.
