Another scene of nature's cycle. It's interesting to see such scenes as I'm by nature fairly squeamish (ridiculously so according to most friends and family), but here, it just fits the world. There's nothing casual or uncaring about it, but about survival.
Today was another amazing day of game drives from cheetah to vultures and so much in between. The last photo op of the day involved a sleeping lion, close to our jeep, who then woke up, yawned a wide yawn twice, and went back to sleep. So many still to download and process! Thanks for your understanding at my lack of consistent comments! Off to sleep as our game drive in the morning leaves at 6:15 for sunrise.
A gorgeous natural photo. Those spikes on the tree are something else too. And it is a bit of a co-incidence - at the time that you were observing the end of a baby terrapin Jane was watching the release of tiny baby turtles! The full cycle. :)
Wonderful shot. And what an amazing experience. My son-in-law's sister went on an African safari 2 years ago and she posted (not on 365) a picture lying down next to a lion. Don't do that please.
What a scene -- so "real" in how you captured what's happening. The downward angle of the tree limb and eagle take your attention right to the -- food, let's call it.
Wonderful capture of the Eagle! I remember being grossed out the first couple days of our safari, watching the animals eating their prey. Then after day 3, it just seemed natural to watch the lions devouring their kill. It’s also interesting that the animals pay seem to pay little attention to the people who were taking photos not too far away.
It all sounds so wonderful! Must put it on my bucket list :)
