I don't know if there's a song title challenge, but that's the song that came to mind as I was down on the beach trying to capture the crescent moon. I never did see it, but instead was able to catch the Milky Way. Though I suspect there's a lot of noise in this scene!
Popular title for the song Vincent by Don McLean.
This is a gorgeous capture of the stars! Love the color, clarity and the sharp focus. We just did a stargazing night in the (freezing) Atacama Desert on July 4 where we saw a magnificent Southern Hemisphere viewMilky Way.
Unfortunately, my shots weren’t in focus but maybe I can
Absolutely awesome, yes there is a song title challenge. It is Vincent and I love Josh Grobans version. You should definitely tag it as it is a fabulous song too :-) Fav
Humming the song right now! I haven't mastered night sky photography at all yet, but hope to one day. This is a glorious shot. Must show my son, he is massively into Astronomy.
Amazing! I haven’t tried astro photography yet, but it is on my list. BTW, I was just watching a Blake Rudis f64 video and he talks about a guy from Chicago who does this different technique for post processing of b&w images. His name is Jim Welninski. He has a course Black and white artistry and also some free youtube videos. You should check him out.
@moonmtn I've heard of Welninski from other photographers in Chicago but haven't had a chance to check him out yet. He seems to be very well-respected. I didn't know about the You Tube videos so thanks for the lead on that! Astrophotography is a lot of fun (and probably even better if you now anything about the stars and constellations, which I don't!). I find that it's all about finding places with no ambient light and an external shutter release, and setting the focus for the distance before shifting to manual. The settings are pretty straightforward.
Wowy catch! What an impressive universe you’ve captured and we live in! I love this song. I used to sing it during my younger years with our school choir. Great memories come to mind ;)

Don't you just love clear nights when you can see forever. fav.
