Friend Vickey and I met at the east-side campground to teach a budding 16 year old photographer about night sky photography (e.g., use of spot metering with the moon, high ISO to avoid star movement). Too bright to see the Milky Way tonight which is usually overhead on the east side of the island. But the Big Dipper was clear as could be!
The light in the distance on the shoreline is the Central Michigan University research station.
And in case you are looking at EXIF information, I should have set my lens at f/2.8. It's set at 5.6 but that is a mistake, so don't follow what I did here! Use your widest possible aperture for night shots.
Now that I would enjoy - going out with you to learn about night sky photography! Especially if I could see the Milky Way which I have never seen. BI sounds perfect! Lovely image here Taffy!
