I'd gotten the notice but totally forgotten the window washers would be on site today for the west windows. His sudden appearance was quite a shock, but fortunately when I jumped up I noticed my camera was within reach. I quickly shot off a few images before he disappeared below. And, he provided me a "half-and-half" for the May theme.
@lyndemc I wondered the same thing, then thought maybe they always wear them because of bugs and other particles or maybe smells from the chemicals of the window wash? It can't be for distancing unless it's for when the pairs are setting up or something like that.
fab capture and I'm thinking because the mask isn't covering his nose it's a new addition maybe to relieve the minds of the onlookers on the other side of the glass. Man is he up high thinking back to all your city view photos.
Oh heck, that would scare the daylights outta me. No way could I handle doing that job for a living. Great shot Taffy, so good you had your trusty camera to hand.
I used to love watching these guys at the top of The Shard in London. Very brave people! I would have jumped out of my skin! Love that you caught the suds and water flow and his concentration.
Wow, what for a work! I do remember a funniest Coke or Pepsi commercial with too a handsome window cleaner entering from the window into an office crowded of pretty young ladies and causing a certain turmoil...
Oh my goodness! Just thinking about where he is outside your window gives my stomach butterflies!! Great shot- how many times to you get a chance to photograph something like this?!
You must have reacted quickly to get this shot - window cleaners don't hang around long in my experience. He looks so strangely large in your frame here - maybe it is the ornaments as Vicky suggests.
