Chicagohenge happens twice a year, when the sun aligns east-west with the urban canyons. It means that when the sun sets, it's centered between the buildings at the west end of an east-west street. Sadly last night, the clouds hid the sun from the dozens of photographers standing in this spot (including me). Disappointing but still a pretty sight.
Beautiful shot anyway, with all those lights already on and the dark buildings. Nature does not always cooperate. My husband and I came to cortina for a few days because of the beautiful clear sky. I was dreaming of finally obtaining those startrails Iāve been after for a long time, but the woods in the mountains just below us had started to burn and the fire caused the smoke to climb up on the peaks where I was supposed to do my masterpiece. No luck this time either. Letās hope that the rain expected tomorrow will extinguish the fires and clean the air of the residual particles. Fav for your Chicagohenge
@caterina It's so frustrating to have a particular set of images in mind and have weather make it impossible. I hope you had some more opportunities! I head you and Junko had a great visit. Congrats on the new little one in your lives!
