On our way to Cappadocia, we stopped at a museum that is one of several refuges used centuries ago to protect traders' caravans with their goods. They have been converted today into museums, hotels, restaurants, etc. as there was one every 40 miles (the distance a trader could make on horseback in one day). They are stunning structures (we saw a few) and no two are identical. This museum had a display of historic handmade rugs.
Lovely look at the building with its high ceilings and arches. I can almost imagine the building filled with people and animals, resting during their journeys.
