Stoney Acres Chef by taffy

Stoney Acres Chef

For Joan @joansmor and her photo from http://365project.org/joansmor/365/2014-07-25. Thought it was funny that we were taking chefs on the same day and they posed in almost the same way!
Stoney Acres is an inland restaurant in a building shaped like a barn, with a bar that has musicians (emphasis on locals playing great Irish music), a restaurant area (with events like Friday Perch night), and a small outside area. It's a favorite spot of ours when we want a reliable meal but don't want to cook. My favorite: their turkey bacon wrap. This is the chef who works in the tiny kitchen. When I started taking photos, he saw me, and then when I asked if it would be okay, he started posing.
@joansmor -- Chef's may learn a 'chef pose' for us photographing them!

Haha, great story. Chefs are fun people! :)

@redy4et Just looked it up -- it looks great so it's on my list to see when we get back to where we have movie theaters (not on the island!).
July 27th, 2014
@redy4et Oh, and it was a candid til he saw me and then started posing!!
July 27th, 2014
Great candid! Some people are so funny when you ask them to pose for you! He looks full of fun! Hope you had a good meal there.

@pamknowler It's one of the only restaurants on the island -- one of four, in a barn shaped building. The food is always reliable and they have musicians in the bar several nights a week, so it's a draw for islanders and 'seasonals' alike.

wonderful happy shot!

He wasn't saying "Hi Mum" by any chance? Good clarity and light for this man!
July 27th, 2014
@maggiemae I'm not sure what he was planning to say, but Hi Mum would not have fit! Though he's cute -- so if I had a kid, he looks like he'd be a fun one.

Love the warmth of the pose. The restaurant sounds good and what could be better than Irish music!

Sorry if I mislead you but Anthony wasn't a chef he was a worker in the lumber yard. The picture was taken in the big office area outside my office. LOL But they are both definitely flamboyant guys. Did you get my reference in the fall story when I said not Beaver. I little nod to you.

Perfect candid...so seldom that one can pull this off in colour!

@ericdibosco Thanks Eric. I think what worked here was the luck of the window frame being in the same shade/tone as his shirt and hat, and then the rest of the tones are all so neutral. I was able to snap off three quick shots before he was back at work so had a little choice which also was good.

He definitely had fun being photographed, and I love how you included enough of his surroundings in the background to contextualize what he does.
