It's True, I'm Bing Cherry (BW Portrait) by taffy

It's True, I'm Bing Cherry (BW Portrait)

Our neighbors have two Chows, this one and a black one. According to Wikipedia, they're original from China and called Songshi Quan which means Puffy-Lion. I think that fits well. I ran into Bing while on a photo walk, and he posed momentarily, before deciding it was more interesting to bark at me. The color version is in my main album. Nutmeg, our Bernese Mountain Dog who we lost a few years ago, used to be terrified of the two dogs despite being twice their size. She loved checking out their yard, though, when they weren't on the island.
The textures and tones are great in the b&w, but I prefer the colour version. It's more real somehow.

Lovely

I hope you weren't bruised when running into this solid dog! You don't have a replacement for Nutmeg? I have learnt that Bernese do not live long lives.

Wonderful dog, and so nice in black and white.

He looks softer and friendlier in b&w:)

So sweet! A great portrait in B&W. Love his name too. This was Martha's Stewart favorite breed of dog for years and years...then she changed over to the French Bulldog.

A great portrait but I can't help feeling he loses a little character in the b&w.

What a name for a Chow. I’m with Nutmeg on being terrified of Chows. One turned on it’s owner in my home town when I was quite small and the man was horrifically scarred. So, yes Nutmeg and I totally agree on this.

I like both but I think I prefer the b&W version. Lovely focus and detail

So cute but I feel sorry for their vacuum cleaner. ;)

Lovely shot

Great conversion. It made me smile to think of Nutmeg being frightened of the two dogs even though so much bigger. So gentle!
