These are Harris's Hawks. They are part of a family of 6, living in the wild above Tucson's Desert Museum, in the Saguaro National Park West. Within the family group, they are sort of like siblings at play, arguing over a piece of meat. At one point the 'mom' hawk flew in and, with her feet, pushed them apart. The two flew off as if to say, 'Oh, okay, we'll stop.' It was fascinating and an amazing photo op!
It's hard to stay with b&w this month with all the bird photo ops here so I guess my extras album will finally get a few photos added!
