Today has been dull, grey and misty with a fine drizzle all day. All the colour has been washed out of the day leaving a sense of timelessness hanging over the countryside.
This is a view of the neighbouring farm about 400 metres across the fields, looking very much as it would have done had this picture been taken a hundred years ago.
Fortunately, it was sufficiently misty to avoid the farmer wondering what the idiot neighbour was doing standing in his garden under an umbrella taking photographs!
@kevin365 Wow Kevin, that's quite a compliment! The shot was just a reaction to the mood and the feeling of the day: I could have shot something indoors but I wanted to try to capture what the day felt like to me in our little corner of France.
lovely soft image - and your comment about the mad neighbour made me laugh. I forgot - last time I did a 365 I ended up talking to so many people in town asking what on earth I was doing - I got known as the lady with the camera.
Beautifully shot and a fav. And I love the things we do to take a photo, like standing in the rain with an umbrella lol...this photo gives a very real feel of the misty dull day, hope it's sunnier for you today :-)
Days like this prove that color comes from light. I've noticed that in a lot of my photos this winter. You also have that problem of being an intruder taking pictures. But it was worth it.
@fishers Today was sunny and I took the same shot again - I'll post it in my Doubletakes album tomorrow and you will see an amazing difference (can't post today as I've already posted another shot).
