This afternoon Mrs S and I were out and about with the walking group we belong to and we strolled - squelched really - along 12km of forest track and country path in and around La Forêt de Paimpont. It was wet and gloomy in the forest and wet and gloomy out of it.
My spirits however were far from gloomy: I was, still am, on a high from the wonderful surprise of having my yesterday's post 'Château de Trécesson' give me my first entry on the Trending page and, shortly afterwards, my first entry on the Popular page. I am thrilled and humbled to have achieved this in my first month on here. A huge thank you to all of you who made it happen with your visits, comments and Favs - I really appreciate your support.
@clarita_71@chris17 That's pretty much the way it was - it was actually bucketing down when I took this shot and I was hunched under some bare branches trying to keep as much rain off the camera as possible.
Your picture yesterday deserved the pp. It was fabulous. Love this one too. My gf who went shopping with me does the kindness of looking at my pictures and is also looking at some of the others on this site. She noticed yours and commented on your "castles." And loved the one of Mrs S in the gloves.
Isn't that wonderful when the surroundings are gray and you walk all upbeat and happy... people must had been wondering what's wrong with that guy? This is a beautiful landscape, even if the weather was gray, and you captured it very nicely.
I love the depth in this image. There is clarity in all the details despite the overhanging gloom - how neat! Beautiful light you have there.
