I was out doing some errands this afternoon and stopped on my way home to look out across the plain towards our house. It can't actually be seen from here because it's hidden behind trees, but that never stops me looking! Suddenly, there was a tiny break in the clouds behind me that cast a pool of warm afternoon light on the houses and trees in the right foreground. It lasted only a few seconds but I had my camera in my hands (although not turned on) and just managed to snap off this one shot before the winter gloom took over again.
@khawbecker@therubysusan@louuncouth@mcsiegle@joansmor The funny thing is that I had the standard 18-55mm zoom on the camera and this scene is more distant than it looks so that even at maximum zoom, there was a large expanse of foreground... and this foreground was dominated by a huge pile of manure waiting to be spread out on the fields. I figured that I'd spare you that!
@tosee The image was shot in RAW so it has obviously had some post=production, but the light was really like that. I was tempted at first to do some retouching as I though to myself "It doesn't look real." but I reminded myself that it is real so the extreme contrast is down to Mother Nature not Papa Photoshop!
