This canal boat was making a difficult U-turn in order to moor in the canal basin at Halifax, West Yorkshire. I liked the clean lines of the narrow boat as a contrast to the autumn foliage in the background.
I see you shooting on Nikon again. This one at 24mm. I think you said that you have the 24-70 Tamron FX zoom? How do you find it? I have rented for the weekend along with a D810, but haven't tried them yet. Traffic was backed up, 90 minutes for a usual 40 minute drive, Friday afternoon, so I might have to wait until tomorrow.
@frankhymus This lens together with it's 70-200mm stablemate are normally mounted on my D610 and D600 respectively and are my 'go to' pair for serious shooting. I left home in a hurry and it was only after I had left that I realised I had put this lens on the D7100 instead of the D610, so it was acting as a 36mmm here. I normally use a 17-50mm f/2.8 Sigma on the D7100 which behaves as 24-70 of course. These two Tamrons are Nikon quality for half the price.
@vignouse Thanks. And the 24-70 is image stabilized too, a nice plus. The Nikkor isn't. Getting used to 70mm on the D810 rental being about 48 on the D7100. :)
Gorgeous capture! I love everything about this capture and there is so much color to distract you from the gray skies I could sit here for hours and just look at this beautiful scene. Instant fav
