Greenfinch

We have a pergola outside the french windows in our kitchen, which, in Winter, houses three separate bird feeding stations. This one tends to be favoured by the Greenfinches like this male, pictured this morning taking a little break between peanut gobbling sessions.

Gorgeous shot, love the composition and all of the textures. I know nothing about birds, and would love to put up a bird feeding station in our garden, but we have an abundance of hungry intelligent city squirrels who seem to be able to raid what I have tried to put up thus far.
