B&W February: Power Pole

Yesterday I talked about the problems of clear blue skies when rendered in B&W... but it's not all bad news. This photo relies on the contrast between an azure sky and an electricity pole: here I deliberately darkened the sky with a polarising filter because for me, if this image has any merit, it lies in the extreme contrasts present.

The really dark sky on this one is nice. I like it! The subject I wouldn't have thought to shoot delivered really well.

I agree... the contrast delivers the lines and circles so clearly. Only in b&w. :) Another lesson for when the sky or light doesn't cooperate. Nice!
