Boat Shed - Revisited by vignouse

Boat Shed - Revisited

I liked the pictures that I took of the 'Base Nautique' yesterday but, without getting my feet wet, the views I was able to take were limited by the 18mm prime lens I was using. I revisited today with a 10-18mm zoom and liked this wider view that shows the boat house in its environment.
Beautifully captured and processed in black and white.

Different kind of leading lines: The trees draw the eyes downward to the boat(s?). Lovely black and white with multiple textures here.

Wonderful b&w shot...great light, composition

I like the wider view. More context for the image. You had a more dramatic sky last time, but who has control over that? ;) I like the framing provided by the overhead branches and side tree, too.

Definitely an interesting build. Of the two shots, both of which are excellent, this one is my favorite.

nice presentation

@rosiekerr It was a wall-to-wall deep blue sky Rosie - lovely to see but a boring mid-grey in a monochrome photo. I liked the context enough to post though. Thanks for your regular visits and comments.

Really good shot. Personally I prefer yesterdays but not by much. Looks like you had some lovely blue sky was it warm. Touch of snow here today.

The povs and field of view are so different, a very interesting study.
Great detail and use of light and shadow Richard

I agree, the wider view gives us more context and enhances the shot well.

Very nice composition. Definitely like the wider angle, but then I'm a sucker for landscapes and this fits more into what I usually see in the viewfinder.

Both great images! I like the wider view here.

Very interesting to see the difference a wider lens makes... Maybe I should try something similar with a less wide lens since my 14mm seems to be glued to the camera!!

@guernseysue When I get a few minutes later this week, I'll mail you with some things you might want to think about.

The 'bigger picture' of this boat house is good too, but yesterday's is my favorite still.

They make a nice pair, each adding something different to the whole picture.
