I was photographing ears of wheat in the field behind our house when I saw a movement in the viewfinder - it was this little chap sitting on the long whisker emerging from the top of the ear of wheat. He is perhaps a fraction more than 1mm in length and the smallest thing I have succeeded in photographing. I find it fascinating that he can be so small and yet resemble exactly a spider 10, 20 or even more times his size: the whisker he is sitting on is not much more than the thickness of a human hair.
