I took a run out on the motorbike this afternoon with the express intention of photographing this church which was built at the beginning of the 15th C. Not the easiest of tasks as it was very dark inside and, with no room on a bike for a tripod, the shots had to be hand-held. It's an impressive and peace-filled building and I hope that comes across in this image. If the altar window looks slightly odd, it's because it is, in fact, not square with the nave.
That is impressive for hand held. Gorgeous interior and stained glass! Love the stone work and the arches. Lots of symmetry which may play into the peaceful feeling.
I found this picture on the Popular Page and am always drawn to beautiful churches and cathedrals, especially stained glass and organs (I'm an organist). I enjoyed viewing your recent photos and look forward to following you!
Thank you for sharing your rich history. And with gorgeous photos, of course! It seems like the pews never have backs on them. Is that true for all of the churches or does it vary? I am starting to think we are very spoiled!!
Wow this is stupendous Richard....love those windows but together with the empty rows of chairs it has an air of space & light even though a solid stone building. Fave!
