Old Favourite... by vignouse

Old Favourite...

The last house that I lived in in England has a large lake at the bottom of the road, about 300m from the house; on the other side of the lake is a hi-tech building that has always attracted lots of criticism for its avant-garde architecture. I loved it so I passed by today to see it again... and it's still as dramatic as ever. This is the lake-side view of the building, the other side is constructed to resemble a cruise liner!
Great colors and textures!

I am totally captivated by this building. What type of business does it house? Not sure I'd care for the cruise-liner side, though. I'm also struck by the blue/green that is reflected in the clouds here, and by the total depth of field. Nice.

Lovely image of a very unusual building. It reminds me a little of the Louis Vuitton Fondation building here in Paris. I'd also like to know what the building is used for. Super capture, and how nice to revisit an old haunt.

I would think that people are either fascinated and taken by this or they think it's an eyesore. Nothing neutral about this building.

Cant say I'm that fond of this type of construction, but I know that living near , and seeing every day something different can grow on you. great shot..

Neat building. Love the hard rocks and the fragile glass.

Interesting construction....it looks like the structure is all inside with the glass skin just providing the shape for the building. I think this would be a very interesting addition to a lakefront with the glass reflecting or revealing the light of day and the interior at night!
