This is the commercial end of the port of Paimpol which harbours a mix of vintage wooden boats, commercial trawlers and the oyster barges you can see in the background. This is for Day 6 of the ONS Challenge - Low Light.
The reflections there along the water across the way are wonderful. Rather quaint.
We have plain colored oval acorns here as well. The ones in my Tuesday picture are very much out of the norm which is why they caught my eye and why I collected them, figuring they'd come in handy for a 365 picture someday. I believe they are Pin oak acorns.
You have chosen an great scene - the prow of that boat, the stern of another and the buildings opposite well lit to show they are being used in this dark time of the day! Love the water looking black too! fav
Such clarity, Richard. A fine camera that Fuji XPro 1 and you are well able to get the best out of it! I though of getting one... but have gone for a Fuji medium format film camera instead: the GX680. It was the large format-style movements (and the Scheimpflug principle which my wife explained to me) that did it! (She says it will slow me down, improve my skills .. and my brain too! Apparently, it's my Christmas present!) A neighbour of mine started to build one out of wood over 20 years ago! He hasn't finished it yet, but this my be the spur!
@yrhenwr You know David, I think your wife is spot on the money... I think you'll absolutely love learning to drive that beast and I'm sure you will produce some thoughtful, contemplative Images. As for the Scheimpflug principle - I know the practical effect in optical systems... I'm content to skip the maths - not my forte.
