NF-SOOC-2017 Day 9: Collégiale St Martin de Candes
The Collégiale (think very grand Parish Church) at Candes-Saint-Martin in the Loire Valley is dedicated to the memory of St. Martin de Tours. The current church building was raised in 1175 by a group of monks who followed St, Martin's teaching. My picture shows the chapel dedicated to his memory and, if you look closely, you can read the date of his death recorded on the tombstone on the floor - 8 November 397.
@randystreat It's actually Candes Kathy and this was again was a balance between retaing detail in both the stained glass window and the chapel furnishings... I'm glad you like it.
I particularly like the soft, darker lighting of the area where the pews are, the highlight of the light on the edge of the row and how all of that makes the window stand out all the more. Beautiful.
Love the light on the pews. I don't think I have the technique to get a good shot like this SOOC. I owe you a fav... this might have qualified so I will dig deep for another one soon!
