Paimpont 2018: Day 60 - Ben

Regular followers will know that for much of January and February I was documenting the refurbishment of the computer generated laser light show at the local tourist office. This week I'm catching up with the staff who are about to have their portraits on the Tourist Office's Facebook page.

This is Ben who is a 'guide raconteur' - a guide and storyteller. This coming season he will introduce visitors to the local version of the King Arthur legends... normally dressed as a Korrigan, which is a sort of friendly goblin!

The Facebook page entry will be a colour portrait but I liked this better in B&W.

I liked it better on black too...
Brilliant a perfect subject to photograph fav

@fujiguy Thanks James - for interest: single Yongnuo speed-light at 1/64th power and a shoot-through umbrella high and just to camera left.

Great portrait. Must check out the FB page. Love the smile. There’s something magical about story tellers! When I was very young my grandfather would get me up from my bed and say things like ....slowly, Margaret opened the door and saw a ....I had to fill in what it was. Together we would weave the story. I know my love of reading started there. Managed to pass it on too! Weather here today the pits!

So much about his personality comes through in this. It's technically so well done, but I like the feeling it evokes as well.
