I've photographed this scene many times but never posted the resulting image - I need to get it out of my system. This is what I wrote last night and - to my pleasure - the image had already garnered a couple of comments and Favs before I went to bed. And then this morning - nix, nada, nowt, nil, nothing... my post had disappeared. So let's try again...
This was taken on the site of the former WW2 Luftwaffe air base where the commandant so much liked trees that he planted an arboretum there. There remains little of the former infrastructure - just a few walls here and there cohabiting with the trees.
I've no idea who Marty is but his graffiti looks best on black!
Ah those shots that get into our heads. Hope you are free but my experience says at sometime you will see it differently and it will make it's way back here. The wall looks surreal.
Whilst MARTY has a sense of style, am pleased that this is beyond the gaze of most. Otherwise some tourists might think that this was the hotbed of stylish countryside decor.
For some reason, I truly like this. Perhaps its the fact that Mother Nature is reclaiming and Marty seems to be asking for some attention which is muted by the tall and proud trees which will put him in his place eventually.
