Nicely done using contrast to set off the leaf. Works well in b&w, of course, to bring out both texture and form. The soft contrast makes the leaf blend into the background in terms of tone, but contrast in terms of texture.

My eye lands on where the stem starts to separate into the veins of the leaf which for me helps give this image a nice visual flow.
