30 Shots for April - Day 11: Puffin Cocktail Sticks
@annied is hosting a challenge for April to take 30 shots of the same subject - since I've been struggling for inspiration all year, I've chosen to join in just for the fun of it. I have decided that my subject will be the glass cabinet in our kitchen - here's the eleventh glimpse of what you might find within...
...puffin cocktail sticks. I've never seen a puffin for real but it remains an ambition to photograph them. In the meantime, Mrs S buys me little puffin motivators!
I love puffins and have seen them nesting on Lunga, one of the Treshnish Isles in the Hebrides. They chat to each other too - so amazing to see in real life. The other time I've been really close was when they were swimming in Poole harbour, but not nesting, and I was sailing a dinghy
I keep thinking of what you have in your glass cabinet and what I have in ours and come to the conclusion that your collection is classier than mine! This is nicely set against the white background!
Better to see them for real, Richard! Do you ever travel beyond Newcastle? The Farne Islands off the Northumbrian coast is a good place to see them. May the best month.
Ah, these are such cute little puffins! I hope you get to see the real thing though, can thoroughly recommend the Treshnish Isles trip if you find yourselves anywhere near the Hebrides :)
VML the composition.
Your puffins look ready to launch into space and fly!
