NF-SOOC Day 19: Church of Saint Vivien, Saintes by vignouse

NF-SOOC Day 19: Church of Saint Vivien, Saintes

A complete change from the Cathedral of St. Pierre featured yesterday: the latest of a number of churches on this site, this building was completed in 1845. Today it is sadly in need of some TLC but I rather like its faded elegance... all too evident in this view of the chancel.

This is for my annual NF-SOOC September challenge - you can read all about it here: https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/42451/nf-sooc-september-2019

Pops more on black...
I like the light on the table with the candle light in the background. Great history

A lovely church. The ornamentation and finery are rich in colors and patterns.

I truly like how you described it as having faded elegance.

I was going to say that this is an excellent "un-altered" shot but it still has the alter in it, so I can't...and now I shall see myself out...

Must have been a beautiful church in its day, what a shame to see that neglect.

A lovely church, and so sad to see it suffering neglect. Your photo is, as usual, superb! - fav!
