NF-SOOC Day 21: Disused Dock at Blaye

Blaye - as well as being famous for its Bordeaux wine - was once a major inland port... but no longer, as you can see.

This is for my annual NF-SOOC September challenge - you can read all about it here: https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/42451/nf-sooc-september-2019
Sittin' at the dock of Blaye? Watching the tide roll away?

Sad to see so many big industrial sites sitting empty.

Gotta give this an instant fav. Love industrial heritage and your b&w treatment is 'just right'.

For me it's a very nostalgic view. It was the end of romantic traveling. Then came the age of containers.
Great choice in b&w. Fav.

Industrial past & wasteland sympathetically represented.

An excellent composition, the leading lines and PoV give wonderful scale to this un-used piece of the past.

A super shot of this industrial scene - so sad to see such derelict sites.

Love it, it's a fine shot Fav. Sad though it is, I do like to see b/w shots of industrial waste-land. If you are within easy reach of such sites could this be the first of a series? You could make repeated visits to this one to document the sea encroaching!

@lostphojo Thanks David, but at 550 km from home I shan't be making frequent visits! Actually, I thought you would have preferred yesterday's image.

@vignouse Oops! Sorry Richard, I missed it! As a 'pure' image yesterdays is a clean neat and very well composed image but I prefer this as it tells a good story. Sure it's a bit messy but I like that about it. No idea you were so far from home
