...these are (were!) the farm buildings belonging to the 'Amityville Horror House' farmhouse that I featured Thursday 5 December. The farm buildings date from a time when many people in rural Brittany survived on subsistence farming - a cow, a couple of pigs, a sheep or two and lots of chickens and ducks... and a bit of land to grow food for the family and the animals.

There are many ruined farms like this in Italy. Subsistence farming was (maybe still is) the ordinary way of farming in the “Bel Paese”, as a matter of fact. Yet, they make for a great photo subject! Fav for your mastery on B&W, did I say it already?
