After Mrs S had closed-up the Abbey (she's on opening and closing duties this week) and I had finished taking some more photos of the boat house, we met up in the Bar de l'Abbaye. There we fell across a friend Thierry and I took an environmental portrait of him at the bar... because I think he has the rugged good looks of a Hollywood film-star, I processed this with a gritty, filmic quality.
@guernseysue I meant to mention that I added you to the permissions list for this album Sue - it's my daily diary and the photos here are not chosen for their photographic merit. After a week, I make access public: the photos don't appear on the daily feed, but they are there to see for anyone who searches through my project. When I started the diary in January, the pictures were public and appeared on my followers' feeds, but all that did was put extra pressure on me to produce two 'good' photos each day (not the point of the exercise) and also divided the audience - most people will only look at/comment on one of your images each day. Does any of this sound familiar at all...?
The most startling thing about this photo for me is the reminder that Thierry's mother is 3 weeks younger than me. Hey, no big deal...until I looked at this pic and realised...I'm old enough to be his mother! Scary?!
