Mrs S and I are the duty roster people for opening and closing Paimpont Abbey this week. The few minutes at each end of the day when the building is silent and tranquil are very restful. As I was leaving this evening, I saw that a beam of light from the south-west transept widow was falling exactly on the flower arrangement on the front altar highlighting its simple beauty... it lifted my spirits a treat!
A lovely memory for your year of days. Sure it seems like a chore sometimes especially when you have had a busy day. So nice to have those moments when you remember how special it was to do this too.

Opening and closing the abbey often provide calm and balance that one doesn't realise is lacking until suddenly...colours are brighter, people are smiling, meeting and greeting...all and everything is serene.
