The distance from our house to the village by the direct route is exactly 3 km, mostly through the forest, so not much to see except trees. Tonight coming home from a meeting I was struck by how dramatic the sky was, so I detoured via the back road which skirts the edge of the escarpment and provides a clearer view to the north. It's good to remind ourselves occasionally of the glories that surround us... even just before dusk on an autumn evening!
