OCOLOY Day 90: Chimney at Point Clos

This is a chimney at the former WW2 German camp at Point Clos, Brittany - it is one of the few remains of the camp infrastructure... in this case, the camp kitchens.

This image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
Tall and well built. Wonder what the need of the ladder at the right side was? Nice POV.

@randystreat Kathy, you're a treasure - you hardly ever fail to be the first person to comment on my posts... thank you! Why the ladder? I think they used to sweep chimneys like this from the top.

@vignouse I'm early posting lately and you must be very late to be able to almost have a chat on here. Thanks for responding to my question.

great PoV - I would not like to climb that chimney though

Very much like the contrast between Nature doing its wild bit and Man's tower. That the chimney is still in such good condition is an accolade to its construction.

It looks cold and miserable but that maybe the emotion accepted!

Oh, boy, what an interesting find. I'll bet that chimney could tell some stories!

I would not like to climb up those rungs. The dramatic clouds add so much to the mood here.

Wow to be still standing today, incredible and yet tragic too, when realizing what this piece of history represents. Spectacular POV and capture, seeing the textures of the stone/brick.
