OCOLOY Day 114: Bridge to the Dark Side

This is a small bridge across a stream deep in Paimpont Forest, made by and for hunters. The main forest track is cut by the stream requiring you to either take a 3 metre leap or plunge up to your thighs in cold water. Those in the know will detour 100 metres to the left to find this rustic bridge.

As always, this image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

Views best on black, I think.
I really like your composition of this with the strong diagonal line.

Excellent tonal range makes this capture another bar mounted. The light on the bridge is glorious!

Another magical B & W Richard, it makes the forest look really mysterious!

Well yes, on the dark side with minimal detail in the shadows. I'd have played a little, to keep the same tonal range but get a little more shadow detail. But yes, I know, you are doing this out of the camera.

@frankhymus I bracketed this shot and so I have a version with a lot more shadow detail... but I wanted to enhance the illusion of stepping into the only partially glimpsed unknown. It was an artistic decision rather than a technical one!

Funny before I read your title I was thinking the dark side.
