Thanks for all the interest in yesterday's image: on reflection (no pun intended), what fascinated me most about the image was the lack of any feeling of depth - everything seemed to be on the same plane as the window itself. For example, the window above Mrs S's head is 10 metres from her and 16 metres from where I was standing to take the photo - that distance is not obvious.
I decided to repeat the experiment tonight from the other direction, shooting through that very window, but this time with the lens held tight against the glass to cut out any reflections. This time, as you can see, the image has discernible depth. I don't know what it all means but it was fun and interesting to do ;-))

I agree with your description of yesterday's shot. I thought that the image made seem like the kitchen was outside. This shot most certainly has depth and definition...well done.
