OCOLOY Day 139: St. Gildas Church, Auray

The choir and high altar of St. Gildas, the parish church of Auray in Brittany... Mrs S sits spellbound whilst I photograph.

As usual, this image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

This definitely rewards viewing on black.

Of the 3 churches we visited this was the one with oodles of natural light. The contrast between the woodwork and the statuary and paintings was impressive.

Has a great timeless feel , You are great at preserving your buildings over there . In Ireland this would now be a pub and the replacement church would look like an industrial building. i like a church to look like this full of the spirit of all who have gathered there...
