OCOLOY Day 184: Green Sewage Plant - Iffendic

If anyone, despite the caption, is still reading - this is an educational post! This is the latest technology water treatment plant and this one serves the Breton town of Iffendic. In fact, the 'latest technology' is the oldest technology in the business as it uses nature's own way of dealing with pollution. Rather than explain it all here, I've managed to find a link in English which explains the whole process. The link refers to the first plant of this type in France - this one was the second - but, as you can see, the illustration is of the Iffendic plant: http://www.veolia.com/en/veolia-group/media/news/treating-water-naturally

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile... and I promise not to do this too often!

It's almost attractive viewed on black ;-))
This sounds a very interesting idea, I read the article and it seems a win win system, perhaps eventually they will start doing this in the UK.

...fav for bringing it to our attention. More awareness, more progress.

Love the phrase "It's almost attractive viewed on black" - the idea is practised in small scale (single households) by some idealists in Denmark

Sometimes the old ways are the best ways.
