OCOLOY Day 189: Sea Pinks - a little past their best...

...OK, they are in fact dead, but I thought that they still looked elegant and pretty in B&W. These are growing on top of a stone wall in the garden and only have restricted root systems so they weren't able to resist a sudden heatwave after weeks of rain.

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
A stone wall would be restrictive to roots so very good that they have flowered and would look super there!

There's nothing worse than having a restricted root system. Another excellent shot sir

I agree with Joan. I also like that you chose to photograph something that wasn't at its best.Things are more often NOT at their best that at their best.

Whilst were lovely when they were in full flower, they retain a certain elegance with Nature ensuring that other blooms have their turn too.
