OCOLOY Day 257: Trinity by vignouse

OCOLOY Day 257: Trinity

Taken this afternoon in the church of St Laurent in the town of Parthenay in the Département of Deux Sèvres (79). The church dates from the 11thC. The idea that the Trinity has been worshipped for over 1000 years in this place caught my imagination.

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile. This is also for 'Square September' which you can find more about here - http://365project.org/discuss/general/28377/square-september

One to be viewed on black I think...
Excellent focus on the candles in the darkness! Just three candle power! fav

This looks good on black. A well chosen title too.

I love this on the black background. I'm not sure I've ever been anywhere that's 1000 years old that is not a natural phenomenon.

Excellent capture of these candles. Again, you are mastering the camera with these results without processing!

Visited Parthenay in the 90s...lovely town and area. Horsham twinned with St Maixent, same region.

..and more, this church has the most remarkable stain glass windows. Their colours have depth, strength and resonance for the scenes they depict. Mesmerising.
