This is the Rue Charles de Gaulle - every French town seems to have one - but at least his mother lived on this street during the war (by the 3rd lamp-post on the right) so the naming is not as gratuitous as it might seem... and it beats the heck out of High Street/Main Street, which it actually is! Another of those foggy evenings that seem so common as the year comes to a close - almost as if nature is obliterating that which is now almost past.

Not for the first time I've noticed Brittany seems to share a weather system with southern England. Or at least we had fog tonight too! I like how the lights beat a path through it in this image.
Definitely better 'bobbed'! Super mysterious capture. Yes, I always think the French are a little unimaginative regarding their street names; as the same names reappear in every town, practically. However, as you say, better than High street, or Main street; equally unimaginative!
