PLAY Feb - Fuji 18mm f/2: Tread Carefully

On the 23rd February in this album I published a shot of the lake shore taken from under the north facing end of Paimpont Abbey. A couple of people mentioned that I should be careful not to fall in - in fact the most hazardous thing is the descent by this mud and wood rudimentary stairway. I liked the view looking back up.

This is for my PLAY project - you can read more about it in my profile - where I'll be using a different prime lens for each month of the year: for February it's the Fujinon 18mm f/2 on an APS-C sensor camera (today the Fuji X-Pro1) - the equivalent of a 28mm lens on a full-frame camera.

This is also for the Flash of Red 2017 challenge.

BoB I think!
Ouch! I'll say. Don't think I'd even try it at this stage of my life.

This looks rather like a scene from The Hobbit or some such setting.

I like your range of textures.

Excellent look back and just gorgeous on black, fav!

Great tones and clarity. I admire the way you can make a scene that really isn't much into a fabulous photo.

It does look precarious although on such terrain feet suddenly find their eyes!

Lovely image.

That could be painful if you went down on your rump.

@dkbarnett Thank you Delwyn, I think that's probably one of the nicest compliments that I've been paid for my photography. It's true that I do try to look for the extraordinary in the ordinariness that makes up much of our daily lives.

@joansmor Plenty of padding on my rump!

Fantastic shot. Love the differing textures and composition.

Great shot. That path is why I like to carry a monopod. Doubles as a walking staff.

if those steps could talk...

@sarasotab Good tip Robert... and I do have a monopod.

@jack4john I think that every time I go down them!

I love how those steps hug the wall and carry my eyes up.
